Safety Protocols
In an effort to keep shoppers, vendors, and market managers safe, the Eastside Sunday Market is implementing the following safety protocols. These protocols may change over the course of the market season. Check back often for updatedi information!

SHOPPER EXPECTATIONS:
- Keep your market visit simple and short; buy what you need and do not linger, socialize, or congregate in the market space.
- If you are sick, or a member of your family is sick, STAY HOME.
- Masks are highly encouraged* while inside the market area, in accordance with the CDC recommendation regarding the use of cloth face coverings.
- Masks are REQUIRED during our At-Risk Hour of shopping for the elderly and immune-compromised is in effect: 1 pm – 2 pm on Sundays. This requirement does not apply to children under the age of 2. Free masks will be available to those without one.
- The At-Risk Hour will be in effect during levels of moderate to high Covid-19 transmission per the CDC's Covid-19 Data Tracker for Knox County. This tracker can be found here by following the prompts to see specific information regarding Knox County.
- There will be no At-Risk Hour when the CDC Covid-19 Data Tracker indicates low levels of transmission in Knox County.
- Shoppers are encouraged to wash or sanitize their hands upon entering the market, regularly during their time at the market, and then again upon exiting the market footprint. We have a hand washing station and hand sanitizer available.
- Practice “social distancing” – maintaining a space of six feet from each other.
VENDOR EXPECTATIONS:
- If a vendor is sick, they will not be able to attend the market.
- Vendors are encouraged to have hand sanitizer available at their booths.
- Unvaccinated vendors will follow CDC guidelines and wear a mask for the duration of the market.
- All vendors, regardless of vaccination status, will wear a mask from 1-2pm when our At-Risk Hour is in effect.
- Vendors are encouraged to implement a contactless pay system or low-touch pay system.
STAFF EXPECTATIONS:
- If a staff member is sick with COVID-19, they will not work the market.
- Unvaccinated market staff will wear masks for the duration of the market.
- All market staff, regardless of vaccination status, will wear masks from 1-2pm when our At-Risk Hour is in effect.
- Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the market as well as an additional, portable handwashing station.
- We will continue to offer SNAP processing and matching. Please bring your SNAP card as usual to the information tent.
